About Me
Welcome to my portfolio of school psychology representing my experiences in the Master of Education in School and Applied Psychology from the University of Calgary.
I received my Bachelor of Education in 1994 and my diploma in Exceptional Children in 1998 from the University of Saskatchewan. I have been teaching for nineteen years, the majority of that experience as a Learning Assistance Teacher (LAT) with the Lloydminster Roman Catholic Separate School Division. I love assisting children overcome their academic and behavioural difficulties, guiding them in gaining confidence in their abilities, and collaborating with their families and teachers to guide them to success. However, there have been times when the collaboration and interventions were not successful. We needed more information on their learning profile. Therefore, in 2010 I decided to switch careers from being a teacher to becoming a school psychologist.
This portfolio depicts my current level of competency in each of the ten domains identified by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). In each domain I have provided related course work, samples of my work, my current level of competency, and a self reflection on my development in each area. Also included are my personal philosophy of school psychology, my curriculum vitae, furthering activities to enhance my abilities in specific areas of school psychology, and contact information.
